The world has been experiencing a dramatic increase in population and this is causing many compelling environmental and social issues, but personally I am still optimistic about the human future.

A chain of most alarming problems on the planet are closely related to over-population.By definition, over-population is an undesirable condition where the number of human population exceeds the carrying capacity of the Earth. As human population keeps on enlarging, exhaustible natural resources, such as arable land, fresh water, fossil fuels, and wildness forests, would continue to drop sharply so much so the supply is not able to meet the demand. Also, as an impact of over-population, there would be an accumulation of human-generated greenhouse gases and carbon footprint in the atmosphere. At this point, the planet has continued to witness amplified global warming which could cause climate to change, and result in extreme hunger, drought, flooding, and habitat loss. Altogether, it is feared over-population might pose a serious threat to the quality of human life in the future.

Of course, natural resources may be finite, but that does not really matter because time and again, human beings have come up with ways to overcome the limits of the planet’s carrying capacity.
